Voices from the Lake ist das Ergebnis der langjährigen Freundschaft und Zusammenarbeit der italienischen Elektronikgurus Donato Dozzy und Neel. Ihr Weg beginnt bei den Wurzeln des Berlin Techno Dub, bei Basic Channel und Moritz von Oswald und führt sie ab 2012 dorthin, wo Ambient nicht mehr ein verdoppelter Umgebungswohlklang ist, sondern, bewegt vom Techno, ein intensives und immersiv verdichtetes Erlebnis der natürlichen und technischen Vorgänge, umhüllt und durchdrungen von einer beinahe fremdweltlich wirkenden Gelassen­ heit und Souveränität. Für den Resident Advisor war Voices from the Lake das weltweit wichtigste neue Klangerlebnis des Jahres 2012, ihr gleichnamiges Album wurde von RA zum Album des Jahres gewählt.
